Battery assists portfolio companies with a range of marketing and communications issues, both strategic and tactical. The group is a resource for early-stage companies just starting to tell their stories and launch products, as well as mature firms that want to re-position their brands in advance of a liquidity event or restructuring, or receive counsel during a crisis.
Battery’s marketing team helps companies evaluate outside PR firms and marketing consultants; serves as a liaison with tech- and financial-industry conference organizers; assists with funding announcements and other news; and offers counsel on content marketing, digital marketing and PR/communications. Another big focus for the group is facilitating networking and best-practices sharing at the dozens of high-profile events Battery organizes each year for portfolio-company executives.

Becky leads Battery’s marketing program, overseeing firm branding, communications, content and events. She works with portfolio companies to provide strategic and tactical PR counsel. Becky joined the firm in 2013 after running her own strategic-communications practice providing branding, positioning and media-related services to Silicon Valley investment firms and high-tech startups. She worked for many years as a business journalist, including ten years at the Wall Street Journal in its New York, San Francisco and Hong Kong bureaus.
