Jenny leads the talent practice serving venture/growth companies in the Battery portfolio.

Jenny leads the talent practice serving venture/growth companies in the Battery portfolio. She selectively executes some high-level searches for portfolio companies and manages a preferred group of retained and contingent search firms, as well as referring executive-level candidates to portfolio companies for open roles. More broadly, she serves as a resource on talent and company-culture best practices, including team building, compensation, negotiation, referencing and employee on-boarding.

Prior to Battery Jenny was the head of executive go-to-market recruiting at Sequoia Capital. There, she supported key executive searches and offered counsel on searches related to functions including sales, marketing, customer success, sales/business operations and business development. She also helped manage and advise on searches for critical internal hires, including the CMO and head of investor operations; she also organized and hosted community-building events for the firm. Before joining Sequoia, Jenny was a senior associate in Spencer Stuart’s technology, media and telecommunications search practice. In that role, she identified and developed candidates for senior-level executive searches at companies ranging from early-stage startups to large public enterprises, with an industry focus on enterprise technology (hardware, software and SaaS), security, telecommunications, e-commerce, digital media and entertainment.

Before starting her career in executive search, Jenny was a defense attorney, running her own private practice and working as a contract attorney for other law offices. She represented individuals charged in state and federal court with misdemeanors and felonies through all stages of their respective cases, including trial.

Jenny earned a JD degree from the University of San Francisco School of Law and, before that, a BA in English from the University of California at Berkeley.
