Dave has been investing in software and services companies since joining Battery in 1995. His areas of interest range from startups–such as creating BladeLogic (IPO) with an entrepreneur-in-residence–to emerging companies, such as SingleHop, to buyouts, such as the take-privates of Made2Manage Systems (Consona), Quovadx (resulting in Healthvision and Rogue Wave), Vero Software (acquired by Hexagon) and Forterro. Dave has extensive experience with a variety of business models ranging from traditional license software to Software as a Service, as well as business services companies and exchanges.
Dave’s current portfolio includes Enviance and its add-on company Remedy Interactive; IHS and its add-on company InnLink; Forterro; Nova Instruments and Nova Metrix; and SingleHop. His previous investments include Altra Energy Technologies (acquired by Caminus/SunGard), BladeLogic (IPO), Consona (acquired by Vista Equity), Data Innovations (acquired by Roper Industries), Eggrock Partners (acquired by Breakaway Solutions), Healthvision (acquired by Lawson Software), HighJump Software (acquired by Accellos), Rogue Wave Software (acquired by Audax Private Equity), Vastera (IPO) and Vero Software (acquired by Hexagon).
Prior to Battery, Dave worked for investment consulting firm Cambridge Associates, where he conducted research on the venture capital industry and evaluated venture capital firms for clients. Dave graduated from Dartmouth College with honors in engineering.
