Carl Narcisse

Carl is a director of talent, based in Battery’s San Francisco office. He supports Battery’s venture and growth companies with recruiting strategies, best practices and product and engineering searches, and also works to expand the firm’s network of engineering and product talent.

Prior to joining Battery, Carl spent five years at Andreessen Horowitz as a talent partner where he focused on technical, product and design recruiting. He also focused on network-building and supported fintech and AI-application companies from seed through series C. Before joining Andreessen Horowitz, Carl spent five years at Slack, where he partnered closely with operating leaders to help scale high-performing teams across frontend, backend, mobile, data and product security.

Earlier in his career, Carl was a recruiter at startups including Counsyl and TrialPay.

Carl earned a BA in political science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
