Roger invests in great entrepreneurs building innovative companies across the software and consumer landscape. His current portfolio companies include 6Sense, Blue Jeans Network, BrightEdge, Coinbase, Entelo, Gainsight, HotelTonight, Joya Communications, Live Intent, Lotame, Narrative Science, Narvar, PrimeRevenue, StockX, Trip.com, Vera and Wag!. His previous investments include Angie’s List (IPO), BlueKai (acquired by Oracle), FreeWheel (acquired by Comcast), Groupon (IPO), Insitu (acquired by Boeing), Neoteris (acquired by NetScreen), Platfora (acquired by Workday), SafetyWeb (acquired by Experian), Send the Trend (acquired by QVC), TrialPay (acquired by Visa), Trip.com (acquired by Ctrip) and World Golf Tour (acquired by TopGolf).
Before joining Battery, Roger spent 10 years as an entrepreneur and operator, facilitating the first ever retail transaction on the internet at age 22. Most recently, he was a co-founder of Corio, a leading managed-service provider that was acquired by IBM. At Corio, Roger oversaw all business development activities and later became a general manager of the e-commerce business unit. Prior to Corio, Roger was the manager of internet products at Edify Corporation. Roger was also the co-founder and president of NetMarket, an online consumer internet service that was acquired by Cendant Corporation. He co-founded and is actively involved with SMART, an organization that provides financially-disadvantaged students with access to educational opportunities, personal experiences and social support services in order to foster academic excellence and community engagement.
