Vice President David joined Battery in 2007 and focuses on early stage venture investments in Israel and Europe. David’s areas of interest include enterprise software, digital media, mobile, and innovative industrial technology. He is active on the boards of VibeSec, Pursway, Digiflex and ActivePath. Prior to joining Battery, David spent more than a decade in senior management roles at leading technology companies and also worked in management consulting. Most recently, he served as a Senior Director in the Office Communications product group at Microsoft. In that role, David was an early contributor to Microsoft’s Lync unified communications offering, which rapidly grew to surpass the billion dollar mark in revenues. He led teams that devised and implemented the strategy for entering the enterprise voice and video communications markets, as well as the mobile offering for Lync. David also spent time working on the Windows Mobile operating system. Previously, David served as VP Marketing at RADVISION, a leading vendor of networking products for voice, video, and data conferencing. Prior to RADVISION, he served as VP of Marketing for Gizmoz, which created an early Social Networking service that used Instant Messaging for viral marketing and media distribution. David also held roles as a Product Manager and Product Marketing Director at VocalTec Communications, a pioneer of the Voice-over-IP market. Before entering industry, David worked for several years as a strategy consultant, first with Braxton Associates, Deloitte’s strategy consulting arm, and then with HK Catalyst, a boutique firm focused on telecom and technology companies. He graduated with honors from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. |
