General Partner Morgan joined Battery in 1996 and focuses broadly on investments in the advanced technology and communications markets. His investment areas of interest range from communications infrastructure and semiconductor components, to analytical instrumentation for laboratory applications. Morgan’s major investments at Battery include Achronix, Akara (acquired by Ciena), Bright View Technologies, Movius, Luminus Devices, Nova Analytics, Nova Technologies (acquired by Idex Corp.), Optium (NASDAQ: OPTM), Qtera (acquired by Nortel), Quantum Leap Packaging, and Veraz Networks (NASDAQ: VRAZ). From 1992 to 1996, Morgan was an Officer in the U.S. Air Force where he led two "startup" product efforts. In this role, he gained product management experience in data communication, wireless communication, software and client/server architectures. Prior to the Air Force, he was employed at Loral Data Systems where he developed mission management software for the Japanese Defense Agency. Morgan graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College with a BS in Engineering Science, received an MS in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, and was the recipient of a National Science Foundation fellowship. |
