Entrepreneur in Residence
Silicon Valley

Yan-David (Yanda) joined Battery as an Entrepreneur-In-Residence to work with the investment team to identify a consumer or B2B Internet business opportunity to build a business around. After months of market research alongside the investment team, he founded ChoiceVendor, a software company focused on information transparency for small and medium sized businesses.

Prior to joining Battery as an EIR, Yanda had already launched a successful venture called social.im, a social network instant messaging client. Social.im was acquired by iSkoot. Before creating social.im, Yanda was a product manager at Google in both the advertising and consumer products areas. Before Google, Yanda held software engineering and program management positions in Microsoft's subscription services group. He's also one of the original founders of Connexions, a non-profit collaborative environment for publishing and sharing educational content. Yanda earned an MBA from Stanford's Graduate School of Business and a Bachelors of Science in both Computer Science and Electrical & Computer Engineering from Rice University.
