Murat joined Battery in 2007 as a Senior Associate focusing on investments in communications infrastructure and enabling technologies. Prior to joining Battery, Murat worked at Mercury Computer Systems where he was responsible for growing Mercury's share in the communications market by managing the development of innovative communications systems and infrastructure solutions. Murat also worked in the financial services group, where he helped investment banks improve the performance of program trading and derivatives pricing applications. Previously, he worked as a software engineer at Intra Information Technologies, a startup company that developed GSM-based mobile transaction devices for financial institutions.

Murat currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Software Defined Radio Forum, an international telecom trade association. He holds an M.B.A, summa cum laude, from the Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College and an M.S.E.E from Northeastern University.
