Roger invests in great entrepreneurs building innovative companies across the software and consumer landscape. His investments include 6Sense, Angie’s List (IPO), Blue Jeans Network, Gainsight, Groupon (IPO), Lotame, Narrative Science, PrimeRevenue, Sprig, TrialPay, Upsight, Veradocs and World Golf Tour. He’s also involved with Gogobot. Roger was on the boards of BlueKai (acquired by Oracle), FreeWheel (acquired by Comcast), Insitu (acquired by Boeing), SafetyWeb (acquired by Experian), and Send the Trend (acquired by QVC). He was a board observer at Groupon prior to its IPO and at Neoteris prior to its acquisition by NetScreen.
Before joining Battery, Roger spent 10 years as an entrepreneur and operator. Most recently, he was a co-founder of Corio, a leading managed-service provider that was acquired by IBM. At Corio, Roger oversaw all business development activities and later became a general manager of the e-commerce business unit. Prior to Corio, Roger was the manager of internet products at Edify Corporation. Roger was also the co-founder and president of NetMarket, an online consumer internet service that was acquired by Cendant Corporation. He co-founded and is actively involved with SMART, an organization that provides financially-disadvantaged students with access to educational opportunities, personal experiences and social support services in order to foster academic excellence and community engagement.
