Abel joined Battery in 2012 as a Vice President, and focuses on private equity investments, including buyouts, rollups, growth equity, PIPES and take-privates.  He has extensive experience working with businesses across the U.S., Europe, and Latin America.  Abel currently works with Drillinginfo.

Prior to Battery, he worked at H.I.G Capital, a private equity firm with USD$10.0Bn under management where he evaluated and executed middle-market buyout transactions. Abel began his career at Thomas Weisel Partners in the investment banking technology group, where he advised growth companies on financing and strategic alternatives, including debt and equity offerings, and mergers and acquisitions.

Abel earned a B.A. degree in economics and politics, magna cum laude & Phi Beta Kappa, from New York University, and received an M.B.A. degree, with honors, from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
