| Congratulations to BladeLogic for its successful IPO in Q3 2007 and its subsequent purchase by BMC Software for a premium over its trading price. According to a press release issue by BMC, “The acquisition creates the industry’s new IT Service Automation leader by uniting BMC’s leading Business Service Management (BSM) platform with BladeLogic’s award-winning data center automation solutions.” | |
Nova Technologies (a division of Nova Holdings) was acquired by IDEX Corporation (NYSE: IEX) in an approximate $160 million transaction. IDEX is an applied solutions company specializing in fluid and metering technologies, health and science technologies, dispensing equipment, and fire, safety and other diversified products. Battery is still a significant owner of Nova Holdings’ second division, Nova Analytics. |

Spot Runner, the first Internet-based ad agency that makes it easy and affordable for local businesses to advertise on TV, launched its Political Advertising Program. The program was created in reaction to the high costs of effective campaigns, which give an advantage to those that can afford to communicate their messages across media outlets. The solution is accessible for candidates and cause-related initiatives, regardless of party affiliation, at the local, state and national levels. Insitu recently announced it has flown Heavy Fuel Engine (HFE) equipped ScanEagles in Iraq. This was the first demonstration of HFE technology in a real-world environment and was conducted in cooperation with the US Navy. The HFE equipped ScanEagles have flown more than 350 hours, including flying 12+ hour missions in both land and maritime scenarios. Insitu is pioneering the development of long-range, autonomous unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) and advanced tools for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR). |

Aurora Networks recently reached a new milestone with the shipment of its 1,000th LcWDM transmitter to top 10 US cable broadband supplier Suddenlink Communications. Suddenlink is using Aurora’s state-of-the-art LcWDM system to upgrade its network so that it can support the information, communication and entertainment demands of its customers at a fraction of the cost of traditional solutions. "Aurora's technology is providing us with a cost-effective solution to increase our network capacity so that we can offer an even more compelling range of services to business and residential customers," said Terry Cordova, Suddenlink’s chief technology officer. "We chose to partner with Aurora because their field-proven LcWDM system is scalable, reliable, and cost-effective." |

US Airways (NYSE: LCC) selected ITA Software’s ReShop product to automate exchange ticket shopping, reprice and reissue capabilities across the airline’s customer call centers, airport kiosks and website. ReShop reduces the cost and improves the efficiency of itinerary changes made by airline reservations agents and through self-service channels.
