Our investment team has been actively participating in industry dialog, with a few featured events below.

Battery’s Menlo Park-based Clean Tech team has been actively involved at industry events across the country and beyond North America.

At Dow Jones PEA Outlook, Partner Dave Dreessen joined the panel, “Industry Spotlight: Energy,” speaking on the sector’s direction for 2008 and where private equity firms should focus their attention. He also addressed the rapidly expanding solar industry in “Funding the Future of Solar Technology and Development” at The 2nd Annual Investing in Solar conference.

Partner Jason Matlof joined the WATEC CleanTech Conference, an independent track within the WATEC Israel 2007 Conference, discussing “The Latest Trends in CleanTech.”

 

Our Internet and Digital Media team has also contributed to a variety of events, including:

Satya Patel, based in our Menlo Park office, served as an industry expert on the CEO Showcase “Online Advertising Service Providers,” at the AlwaysOn OnMedia NYC conference. He also moderated a panel at Digital Hollywood Spring entitled “Widgets as a Platform: Content, Advertising, Communications.”

General Partner Roger Lee participated in a number of sector-themed events, including: 2008 International CES as a panelist on “Follow the Money: The Emerging Technologies that are Getting Venture Capital Dollars”; Consumer Technology Innovations 2007, speaking on “Harnessing Consumer Opportunity”; and the NVCA Annual Meeting, moderating the panel “The Advertising Revolution.”

 

Other members of our investment team have been involved in a number of events addressing the latest industry trends, most notably:

Neeraj Agrawal, General Partner, commented as an industry expert on the CEO Presentations “On Demand Services & Technology Enablers” at the AlwaysOn Venture Summit East.

Senior Associate David Sokolic spoke on “Outlook: What’s new in Israeli High Tech” at the 2007 US Israel Venture Summit.

Mark Sherman, Menlo Park-based General Partner, spoke on “The Business of Web Apps: Where the Web Goes to Work” at DealMaker Media: Under the Radar.

Menlo Park GP, Ken Lawler, joined Dow Jones VentureOne Summit 2008 as a panelist for “Upward & Onward? Will The Venture Industry Find Continued Success & Opportunities in 08?”
