These attributes certainly apply to entrepreneurs around the world. But
we find something particular about the entrepreneurial spirit in Israel.
No problem is too complicated. No subject too far afield. No
challenge too great.
For more than a decade, Battery has recognized the unique qualities of Israel and its talent pool, and we have been dedicated to investing in a very select group of original thinkers. We value their creativity and innovation, and applaud the individuals and teams who have a relentless desire to build world-class companies that will help redefine technology sectors, industries and the way we live.
Over the years, we have been fortunate to invest early in some very big, ground-breaking technologies. Some endings have already been written, such as Kashya (acquired by EMC) and RADNET (acquired by Siemens), and there are a number of compelling companies in our current portfolio — Freshpoint, Neocleus, Veraz Networks (NASDAQ: VRAZ), and Xurity — that are working hard to build their businesses.
Our goal is to grow our office in Herzelia alongside the country’s most innovative individuals, partnering with them to incubate great ideas and build them into world-class businesses.
In keeping with our overall investment strategy, we invest in Israeli companies at all stages, from seed through growth and buyouts. And in the spirit of true Israeli entrepreneurship, we remain open to exploring all business ideas, no matter how far off the beaten track they might at first seem.
While we remain open to all creative thinkers, there are some very strong sectors in Israel that we are particularly interested in, including:
When we invest in an Israeli company, there is at least one U.S. and one Israeli Battery team member involved. This combined team lends the maximum exposure, networking and support to help these young companies scale quickly and efficiently.
As with all investments, no matter where a company is located, the experience, knowledge and connections of the entire Battery partnership are at its disposal.
